Ferramoda 2016 - La Moda e' Cultura

"Ferramoda 2016 - La Moda e' Cultura"

Ferramoda ~ the dual objective of the promotion of culture through fashion and the organisation of such events for a good cause.
The name Ferramoda follows the directors family name Ferrante, and her passion for fashion. Ferramoda was launched in 2006. It started emerging as a Made in Italy event, emphasizing on handmade products in order to protect, promote and encourage the work of designers who put their emotions in the creativity of a design to express fashion. It was the reflection of a culture which rode the world of fashion and due to the financial crisis was loosing its grip as the world was moving to faster machine made designs, which were cheaper. Ferramoda wanted to strive to keep this culture going- the appreciation of values which were going to get lost.

Ferramoda is also well known as being a charity event- a night of fashion and culture FOR A GOOD Cause. There are no sales or outlets, however all brands benefit from the
marketing, the attendance of all honored guests and the attention of all those present who also are there with the aim of giving a donation for the children’s homes of Malta.

This Year's edition was held at the Corinthia's Hotel and Spa in Attard and I heard there were more than 350 guests invited! Various brands were present at the event which included Pupa Milano Malta, Guerlain, Tony & Guy Hairdressing and Environ. There were also Niumee, Cavalieri Art Hotel, Nexos and Bernard Polidano as the main sponsors along with Accademia Italiana.

A lot of entities took part in this event, with the Luxury Outlet being one of them. It is located in Sliema and harbours brands such as Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Versace and much more. It offers luxury brands at discounted prices! A showcase of such brands was presented to us after the initial presentation. Emilio Ricci's lastest collection was entitled My Natural Dream, which featured some beautiful outfits all encompassing the element of nature in them. The next show was a showcase of some beautiful pieces from Emilio Schuberth .Unfortunately, I had to leave quite early and I missed the show by Ferragiu. Below are some photos of the event itself:
