Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Review

I have been absent for over a week and I feel guilty about it. So, to make up for it I am writing a review on a product which is very raved about in the blogging sphere.

This is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

In one of my videos which can be seen below I realised that I actually have 2 shades of this powder but one of them being slightly darker then the other.

The 2 shades I have got are Sandstorm and Warm beige with the latter one being the darker shade.

As I have mentioned several times my skin tends to be slightly on the oilier side so a shine free/matte powder is a must for me.  However, I may add that we have a very humid summer in Malta and I tend to sweat my face off!

The powder itself has a hint of fragrance in it which as a matter of fact I find quiet pleasant. I bought one shade from a local store and was 6.25 euros and I bought one from asos which was 5.19 euros. Find it here.

On the actual performance. I have to confess that I didn't stay with a timer/clock in my hand to see whether there was any shine after 5 hours. But I noticed that my face wasn't as shiny throughout the day. It is very mattifying but not a very kind of heavy powder than makes your face cakey.

I haven't tried this powder in winter but I expect it to be better in winter because we won't have as much humidity.

Having said all of this remember that if you want your face to be shine free all day long, carry with you the powder with a powder puff or a brush and carry as well oil blotting sheets just in case, because as I said the face can still become shiny throughout the day.

All in all, I love this powder because it is relatively cheap and I find it quiet good with mattifying and keeping shine off the face.

Hope you have  a nice shine free day!

  1. I've used that powder for years. I thought it was good until I tried Maybelline's powder. Rimmel may be cheap but it's not that good for really oily skin.

MUA powder, it's really cheap. Quite good aswell. Both come with mirror and applique.
