Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Review

I have been absent for over a week and I feel guilty about it. So, to make up for it I am writing a review on a product which is very raved about in the blogging sphere.

This is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

In one of my videos which can be seen below I realised that I actually have 2 shades of this powder but one of them being slightly darker then the other.

The 2 shades I have got are Sandstorm and Warm beige with the latter one being the darker shade.

As I have mentioned several times my skin tends to be slightly on the oilier side so a shine free/matte powder is a must for me.  However, I may add that we have a very humid summer in Malta and I tend to sweat my face off!

The powder itself has a hint of fragrance in it which as a matter of fact I find quiet pleasant. I bought one shade from a local store and was 6.25 euros and I bought one from asos which was 5.19 euros. Find it here.

On the actual performance. I have to confess that I didn't stay with a timer/clock in my hand to see whether there was any shine after 5 hours. But I noticed that my face wasn't as shiny throughout the day. It is very mattifying but not a very kind of heavy powder than makes your face cakey.

I haven't tried this powder in winter but I expect it to be better in winter because we won't have as much humidity.

Having said all of this remember that if you want your face to be shine free all day long, carry with you the powder with a powder puff or a brush and carry as well oil blotting sheets just in case, because as I said the face can still become shiny throughout the day.

All in all, I love this powder because it is relatively cheap and I find it quiet good with mattifying and keeping shine off the face.

Hope you have  a nice shine free day!

Macademia Natural Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo Review

I feel like the introduction to every post in the past couple of months has been about summer. I won't mention summer again although I already did .. twice!!!

A couple of months back I finally bought the famous and most raved about Macademia products which you can get from various websites online.

I will start with a shampoo from the range.

I have quite sensitive scalp and I have to be very careful when it comes to shampoos. Most shampoo brands irritate my scalp easily and my scalp forms a lot of dry itchy scales which are not dandruff.

For this reason I choose to use shampoos which are sulfate and paraben free.

Anyways, I had a sort of discount from lookfantastic and I decided to try the Macademia Natural Oil range.

The first thing that has to be mentioned is its fragrance.

It smells divine... I seriously think it is the best shampoo fragrance I have ever smelled! It is not that usual shampoo/soapy smell that most common shampoos or hair stuff have. I honestly cannot describe it. But I assure you it smells amazing.

Ok I think I made enough emphasis on its fragrance.

The shampoo itself is quite a straight forward shampoo. It is targeted for dry hair. And believe it or not my hair has been the driest I can ever remember it to be. Even my roots which where quite normal as in slightly on the oily side not to much though. However, the ends have been a nightmare this summer. My hair has been most of the time in a bun and it has seen a lot of hair spray.

This shampoo made my hair feel kind of refreshed or 'rejuvenated'. I would typically wash my hair 2 or even 3 times a week depending on whether I was working or I went to the beach.

It doesn't irritate my scalp not even one bit! and for that I give it an A+++. I would have expected it to be a bit more smoothing kind of but there again my hair is the worst it can be and to ease the dryness I use my trusted Argan Oil.

Hope you found it helpful.

How to: Fix an Eyeshadow/Powder/Blusher

Hello peeps :)

I do not usually break things however when I do I always try and fix them.

I was really upset when one of my current favourite blushes just broke into pieces and I cannot remember if I dropped it or not.

Anyways, check the video below on How to Fix an Eyeshadow/Powder/Blusher.

All you need is:

Broken powder
Some rubbing alcohol or Surgical spirit
Bobby pin
Tissue paper
Something with a firm base to press on the powder

Hope you found this video helpful

Michael Todd Avocado and Mango Hydrating Facial Mask Review

A couple of weeks ago I reviewed the Michael Todd True Organics Blue Green Algae Toner, which you can find the review of here.

You can get Michael Todd Products here

This time it is about a mask. This is the Michael Todd Avocado and Mango Hydrating Facial Mask. A mask which is seriously good enough to eat. First of all it has mangos and I absolutely love mangos and everything related with them. Secondly it smells divine and it is refreshing.

It is a hydrating facial mask and it is more targeted towards dry mature and sensitive skin. Now I don't have any of those. And so you might be wondering why the hell did I buy it then.

I have to say that I use it more often in winter as my skin is much more dehydrated. Having said that I work in an environment when I am constantly going out from air conditioning and out in the sun then back again in the ac. That can be quite drying to the skin.

I use this mask around once a week or when I feel like my face needs a bit of a boost. In winter I use it around twice a week.

As I have said the mask is very refreshing and hydrating. It comes in a very smooth orangey sorbet like texture:

It removes any dry flakes that might be present on the skin without making the face oily or super shiny or something. It is just the perfect mask for the dehydrated skin. Perfect for a night in and a pampering session :)

It isn't oily at all and that is why I think it is suitable for a lot of skin types!

Hope you found it helpful!

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blushes and Brush Review + Swatches

Summer is in full bloom here in Malta, with temperatures not going below 33-34 degrees. I am planning to do a video on my summer staples, like things that really last and so.

This is my favourite blusher of all times. I had won these blushes in a giveaway a year or so ago.

These are the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blushes. I have 3 shades which are pictured below:

You can find these blushes on the following websites:

There are certainly more websites available. Just google Daniel Sandler Makeup and you will find ample of sites :) However, not all the websites carry the whole range.

Now about the review.

I have quite combination face and my face tends to get shiny because of sweating as well so I have to use longlasting products.

These blushes are just that longlasting that do not budge, badge or transfer. They are somewhat like stains but they can be easily removed with makeup removers.

They are liquid blushes. It is important to shake the bottle well so the two parts mix together and you would typically need 1 drop for each cheek depending on the intensity that you want. I got the water brush in the the give away that I won however, you can use a typical Buffing brush.

So, I like to put the drop on the back of my hand then pick the product up with the brush and blend the blusher in circular motions on the cheekbones or wherever I feel like applying blusher :)

What is also great about these babies is that they can be applied on bare skin. Typical blushes are best applied on foundation or tinted moisturiser and some powder to have the maximum effect.

As a Summer Staple, for me these are the best ones out there (which I have tried so far).

Hope you found it helpful,

XOXOXO
