Urban Decay Primer Potion | Review

Urban Decay is a brand which I honestly desperately which was available in Malta along with several others like MAC and Sephora and Nars and others. If you are into makeup I am pretty sure you heard about the Naked palette range. I have the original one and now I am dying to try out the Naked 3 palette. 

Last year, when I was in the UK for IMATS I managed to get my hands on the Naked palette from Debenhams. This palette came with a small trial size of the Primer Potion. 

I wanted to try this much raved product for ages and well since it isn't cheap, I thought it was a good idea to try it out. It is actually a very good eye primer. It has this kind of creamy although not entirely creamy, consistency which kind of sets to a somewhat dry finish. 

It holds up pretty well and the eyeshadows really sit well on it. I find that the eyeshadows are more vibrant and saturated with the primer. Does it crease? Well, let me just get it straight. In the humid, sunny, sweaty summer months that we have in Malta, it will crease at some point but not like at once, more likely after several hours.  To top it off I really have oily eyelids and I do get a shiny face quicker.

There are several shades of this kind of primer I believe but this is the kind of nude shade. Would I repurchase it again? I am not quiet sure to be honest. There are a couple of eyeshadow primers which I want to try. But I strongly suggest trying it out, although it is a bit pricey.

Lierac SUNIFIC Primer - Tan Starter Serum Review

I have already described this product in a previous post which you can find here. But for your convenience this is basically what was described in the brochure that accompanied it:

It is a primer which prepares the skin prior to sun exposure, boosting its resistance to the harmful effects of the sun, while rapidly activating a golden tan.

The formula contains sweet orange bioflavonoids (5%) and fresh carrot cells (1%) which trigger melanin production.It also contains jasmine extracts (2%) which all improves cell protection. It also has a beneficial agents such as fruit AHAs, shea butte and monoi, rouocou, apricot kernel and plant glycerin oils for a more even and more luminous perfect golden tan. The primer is a light moisturising fluid serum with notes of orange blossom, gardenia and frangipani.

How to use it? It is suggested to start applying it around 15 days before starting tanning morning and evening!

For the actual review:

I can see a big difference when using this product. Ok I admit it. I haven't been using this religiously for 15 days in a row. I have been using this for the past 2 months more or less.

It has a quite thin consistency which is absorbed quickly into the skin. I also find that it really acts as a good light moisturiser. I tend to tan quite easily however I sometimes tan a bit too dark. What I mean is that sometimes the tan is not that golden tan. You know what I mean, I hope haha. This Lierac primer helps the skin to obtain a very uniform golden tan all over your body. You can apply it on your face as well.

Don't be scared but this product has a sheen to it. It is a very light sheen of what seems like very fine glittery particles. It is not glitter by any means. To be honest I don't know how to actually describe it well. But it is this golden and very subtle sheen which makes the skin look gorgeous when the sun hits it.

Honestly a must have product for the summer but I imagine it is actually a good product for the winter as well!

PUPA MILANO PROFESSIONALS BB CREAM + PRIMER Review

I have a review about the 2nd product I got sent from Pupa Milano Malta.

If you are into beauty products and things I am pretty sure you must have heard of the BB cream craze. It has been around for the past year or more I think. And now every brand has come out with one. I have to admit as I have admitted many times that BB creams aren't something I look up to. I put my faith in foundation all the time and if I want a sheer coverage I'll just dampen the brush and apply less foundation.

Anyways, I was sent this product to review. For me this shade is a tiny bit orangey and I am quiet tanned mind you. However, I have a yellowish undertone. 

The product comes in 2 shades. Nude and Sand in which Sand (the shade I got) is the darkest of both.

It could be a disadvantage as there are only 2 shades which probably won't cater for a lot of skin tones. The shade doesn't match exactly my skin tone, however it somehow blends easily in the skin to give an even colour all over the face.

This BB crem provides a sheer coverage and won't cover spots or blemishes. This is quiet understandable as it is not meant for this purpose. The finish is not a matte one and I needed to powder the face to remove the excess shine. I am not sure if it is suitable for every skin type, however it is suitable for combination skin as it didn't make my face oilier. 

Staying powder is very subjective. We have a lot of humidity here in Malta so it really tests the product out. I would typically wear foundation for whole day makeup, but this BB cream seemed to last quiet a long time. 

I am not sure about the primer function of this cream however. Since it is slightly darker for me it made my foundation go a tiny bit darker. This could be beneficial if maybe your foundation is slightly lighter and you don't want to buy a new foundation. I found that I had way too much on my face when I layered foundation on this primer.

The price for this product is 15.90 euros, which is not bad I guess for such a product. I think you should give this a try if you would like a sheer coverage product instead of the usual foundation. Pupa Milan products are available in various stores around Malta.
