Revlon ColorStay Foundation Review

I neglected my blog for a while now and I am finding it very strange to write a review. So, apologies beforehand.

This year has been the year where I changed and unthinkable amount of foundation shades. Apparently my skin tone is a very difficult one in terms of finding the right colour.

One of the foundations that I was using this summer was the Revlon Color Stay foundation. Excuse me for the messy bottle but I will explain why later.

The first thing you can notice is that the foundation I chose is one for normal to dry skin. I was watching one of the videos by Makeup by TiffanyD and she had mentioned that this actually performs better than the one for oily skin.
Anyways, just to make it clear it didn't make my face shiny either so I didn't have problem with that. The shade was actually a bit dark for me but I tan quickly so it wasn't that big of a problem.
I love how the foundation sits on the face. It has a medium to slightly full coverage with a nice slightly dewy finish. It doesn't look pasty or feel heavy on the skin. It does have SPF so beware of flash photography.
I don't imagine myself wearing foundation for 24hrs but I didn't take it literally as I rarely believe these claims. However, it is very long lasting. During the past summer I had to wear makeup on a regular basis and sometimes for a period of 12 hours. So, it was a good test.
I don't remember the actual price of this foundation but I realised that some so called drugstore brands are really putting up their prices!

My biggest dislike about this foundation is the no pump thingy.
It is usually no big deal if I absolutely love the product. But I cannot complain enough how dirty the bottle which oh btw is glass and is kind of heavy as well, gets.

Untill next post!

OOTD and Some Inspiration :) + Mini Haul

I never actually did an outfit of the day post (OOTD) and frankly I am not sure how it is done so be patient :)

I have probably bored you to death with my posts this week but I have so much going on that I felt I had to write blog posts.

In London I was inspired! inspired by what? By the people around me! There was such diversity such inspiration and I was overwhelmed.

I felt I had to do something different!

1) OOTD

Top- Primark, Skirt - Newlook, Bag-Zara,
Earrings-Primark
Necklace - Malta's Online Shop
2) Nails

Everyone seemed to have perfect and immaculate hands! Just looked at mine and seriously I bite the areas around my nail and not the actual nail.... They are just a bit horrible. I bought a cuticle oil and I intend to you know just a do a kind of weekly mani session :)

3) Lip colours, Bright colours ....Clothes...

I blame Martina for this. She actually inspired me to wear more bright lip colours! She also encouraged me to kind of wear more daring things and not the usual plain and boring stuff. Here is what I got lately.

Yeahh it was free with Cosmo... that is why I bought it haha

Romy

sorbet - wild watermelon

4) Lashes
It seemed everyone in London wore lashes! I am determined to do my best!!
I am very picky about eyelashes and tbh these weren't the cheapest either...

London was full of inspiration. I felt free and kind of in heaven with all those ideas around you.

What do you look for ? What inspires you?

How to Groom your Eyebrows to Perfection

Hello guys :)

This blog post goes hand in hand with my video that I uploaded. This video and post is all about Eyebrows.
Eyebrows can often be left out when doing day to day makeup. However, they are such an essential part of the face!

A guide line picture for the eyebrow shaping:

In this video I will show you how to groom your eyebrows to perfection. Check the video:

Here I am going to do a breakdown of the tips I mentioned in the video.

  1. I suggest you visit your beautician and get your eyebrows done at least the first time. It is better if you do them once and do them yourself after.
  2. NEVER EVER pluck your eyebrows in a way to change their shape. There is a risk of them not growing properly.
  3. There is no such thing as UNIVERSAL EYEBROW SHAPE.
  4. Leaving the natural shape of the brows and just removing the hairs that don't fall in the shape is much better.
  5. If you want the shape of the eyebrows to be more kind of edge and slightly slanted, to make a sort of sharper angled brow, apply the pencil/powder on the top part of the brow.
  6. Powders and eyebrow pencils give more of a subtle and soft look. If you want a more defined and sharp brow I suggest using waxy products like tinted brow wax.
  7. You can try and use eyebrow stencils, where you put the stencil over your brows and fill in the brows accordingly.
  8. Perfectly groomed eyebrows frame the shape of your face.
  9. For dark eyebrows choose a shade or two lighter than the colour of the brow, so for example taupy browns instead of greys. If you have blond hair, chose a shade which is a shade or two darker then the hair colour.
  10. I you wear glasses, filling in the brows will give a much more polished and defined look.
  11. Use a gel to make the brows stay in shape all day!
Ok so that is all :)

I hope you find the video/blog helpful. Just leave comments if you have any questions

Clinique Chubby Stick in Mega Melon

Hello guys :)

I am obsessed with tinted lipbalms. I feel that they are the perfect consistency for me. I am not quiet keen on lipsticks and lipglosses. I find that for me they are the best. However, that is just purely on personal preference.

I have usually dry lips 365 days a year. And its weird cause I have combination skin. Anyways after the Revlon Lip butters (which I adore!) I tried the Clinique Chubby sticks (one of them to be exact). This is the shade 04 Mega Melon.

This baby retails at around 16 euros which is not cheap lets say. But not the most expensive either at least in my opinion.

The product itself is quiet nice. They have some very cool colours. The one I primarily wanted was the Chunky Cherry but they didnt have the shade.

Mega Melon is a very wearable gorgeous golden pink, which I think would suit the majority of skin tones. It is certainly one colour that you cannot go wrong with even when you don't know which colour to put.

Being a lipbalm I didn't expect it to last a long time on the lips, I tend to reapply lip balms constantly. It really moisturises the lips quiet well. However, if you had to ask me, I would prefer to buy the Revlon Lip Butters. I find them better nourishing and moisturising then the Chubby sticks.

By all means, I am not saying that it is a bad product! On the contrary! Keep in mind that the LipButters are a little bit cheaper then the Chubby sticks.

But I guess they are worth a try if you love Clinique :)

Hope that helped!
