Gagliardi Spring/Summer 2014 and Autumn/Winter 2014

This post is purely for the ladies! Men in suits? Yes, please. I mean.. there is something really appealing when men are all suited up. It could be just me... but I am pretty sure I am not the only one, right?

Enough dreaming mar! On to the event itself.

Just a brief note on the location. This was by far my favourite location. It was held at the National Library in Valletta which houses some of the oldest books and records that there are in Malta. I think the setting was just perfect and it really complimented the collection it self! 

As you can tell today's show consisted of the very best in Luxury design and in tailoring skills. The Gagliardi brand blends modernity with heritage and tradition to create a vibrant and exciting yet also classic and timeless look. The collection caters not only for the business kind of wardrobe but also for the clothes a man wears in those relaxing moments after work or anywhere else such as a typical Mediterranean night out.

During this show 2 collections were showcased. The first one being the Spring/Summer 2014 collection. This collection was inspired by the Amalfi coast with an emphasis on lightness, crisp silhouettes and traditional sartorial detail. The colour palette included a mix of navy, white, sky blue, midnight blue, lemon yellow, vintage pink, lilac, heather, burnt orange and grey melange.

The collection features rounded well shaped shoulders and slim fits which are increasingly popular. Having said that the traditional contemporary silhouettes are still available.

The second collection was the Autumn/Winter 014 collection. With every season comes new collections, fresh details and materials and fits, and yet the Gagliardi style remains timeless. Every subsequent collection contains its own original pieces but still retaining the qualities of the world of Gagliardi.

The Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is inspired by 'Chingiale' hunting in Tuscany and boasts an exquisite paisley hand writing and trim. Adopting some staple autumnal colours as Bordeaux, warm mustard, rusty orange, forest green, wintery grey, icy blue and smokey blue the Gagliardi range is rich in character and style.

The Bridal Fashion Show – Pronovias, Weddingbells, Loredana Roccasalva - Day 5

Today's show was entirely dedicated to wedding gowns. And seriously.. Well I am still not married yet so I don't know exactly but I can imagine that choosing a wedding gown is the most exciting part of the whole wedding planning, or at least for me I think it will be. I want to say that this one was my favourite show but I feel like there were a lot of good shows. 

Anyway, there were 3 different collection today and the first one was by the Wedding Bells bridal wear and Accessories.

Made from the finest bridal fabrics, combined with excellent quality workmanship, the Wedding Bells collection never disappoints. This year’s show will feature romantic lace, elegant silk, chiffon flows and a selection of breathtaking designs – a distinctive mark that Wedding Bells is now synonymous with.

The 2014/5 Collection features a wide array of exquisite details with distinct embellishment making each wedding gown unique. The Collection consists of silhouettes from tea lengths and high lows to glamorous mermaids to fairy tale balls. No matter your style, I am pretty sure you will find your dream gown at Wedding Bells.

The following are some of my favourite gowns.

The second collection was by Pronovias. Pronovias is Spanish brand and is widely acclaimed for its unique collections of elegantly refined wedding and cocktail dresses that are highly sought after across the world. Since presenting its first collection in 1964, this label now operates more than 3,800 sales points in 75 countries.

 The current collection Elie is by Elie Saab with the company’s top-of-the-range line developed by the Atelier Pronovias creative team. Pronovias’ new 2015 collection is not only a continuation of the sartorial achievements of the current 2014 collection which features a return to classic and more enduring lines, intricate detailing, colour and exciting fabric choices but will also be a celebration of these past 50 years of success. I personally think that the 2015 collection from Pronovias is one of the most beautiful collections to date.

The 3rd and final collection is designed by a Milan based Fashion designer Loredana Roccasalva was born in Sicily and received her formal design training at the 'European Institute of Design' in Rome. Earlier in her career she worked with some of the biggest names in Italian fashion including Roberto Capucci and Fernanda Gattinoni, and also had the opportunity to design for the first collection of Versace Jeans.

The philosophy of her collections is very much influenced by the territory where it is  born and shaped in a modern form. The company produces 100% Made in Sicily. In this way the product remains the creation of true handicraft and tailoring with the motto of “Raggiungibile contemporaneo”. This collection is designed for the strong yet romantic woman. It also includes modern contemporary hairbands which are adorned with charm and romanticism. There were actually some quite interesting pieces in the collection which I am not sure whether they are up to my taste so to speak but it's just a personal opinion at the end.

Tiffany Pisani Swimwear Collection - Day 4

It was just yesterday that I was looking at some swimsuits. I don't know what is happening to me but this year I want every colour! So today I was really interested in the show you know, to get an idea and inspiration as well. And let me just tell you... I think I know how and what I want my swimsuit to be like. And I won't rest till I find one!

On to the show itself. The ongoing promotion of the maltese culture and heritage is one of the main hallmarks of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta. This year it was decided to combine the elements of Malta's rich maritime heritage with swimwear designs by Tiffany Pisani who is an international model with a keen eye on upcoming designs. Her luxurious collection of swimwear is designed to be timeless yet contemporary  and make women feel confident and comfortable.The collection includes flattering briefs, halternecks, twisted bandeaus adorned with buckles beading and vibrant prints. Inspired by the beautiful country of Brazil which obviously is very renowned with bright colours and swimwear.
