Soap and Glory Flake Away Scrub Review

I just love me some good old scrubs on my body and even on my face. There is something which makes me feel good when I scrub my body, I guess it has to be with the scrubbing motion improving the circulation and what not. 

I use scrubs all year round however, I tend to use different ones in winter. I haven't actually tried a lot of scrubbing brands as such which my all time favourite being the ones by Body Shop.

While I was in the UK last year for IMATS which I totally missed this year, I couldn't simply skip trying this out. First of all the tub is just huge and it took me ages to finish it up and I used it quiet frequently.

It has some very nice and good ingredients which give the scrub a yummy fragrance to it. It is certainly a sweet scent so if you're more into fruity scents I am not sure whether you'd like this or not.

This scrub contains some natural kind of exfoliants. They are very different from the synthetic beads which I kind of don't like as much. I prefer a kind of good old sugary scrub kind of thing. Having said that this is not the harshest scrub out there which I think is a good thing. 

It gets rid of the dry skin effectively and it doesn't make the skin dry out as much. I mean it dries the skin to some extent but I always suggest to moisturise the skin after wards. I find that products get in the skin much better after a good scrubbin. 

As with a lot of things, sadly enough this is not available in Malta and it is the main reason why I probably won't repurchase it again. I would, however repurchase it if I happen to be in the UK again.

Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo Review

Happy Sundays everyone! 

Finally I decided to review this product. Cannot believe it took me this long. I fell in love with Lush the minute I entered the shop for the very first time in June in London.

I have quite dry and oily hair. Let me explain. So, the ends of my hair are quite dry and I get split ends quite frequently. For this reason I cannot use straightening irons and curling tongs and hot tools in general that often. Which for me is a bit of a downside as I really like straight hair. But anyways. My roots can become quite oily at times which make the hair at the roots quite flat and the ends of the hair dry. And believe me it is a nightmare. I also consider my scalp quite dry however. Or better flaky. And it is not dandruff as I have tried several anti dandruff products which actually made my scalp worse.

Whenever I use several products on the hair or when I go and do an upstyle or use hair spray or so I have to wash my hair the day after as I get a lot of product build up which make me itch terribly. So, I am always on the look out for shampoos which are deep cleansing shampoos which cannot be used that frequently as they dry out the hair.

When I went into Lush I remember telling them that I have never tried  Lush products and that I would like to try something for my hair. I was introduced to this product which is more or less a scrub for the scalp! Exactly what I needed!

It is more of a mechanical scrub than a chemical one as it is made of coarse sea salt which is quite big compared to the normal salt. This is the product I was looking for all the time!

It is made of natural ingredients and in fact I think it has a shorter expiration date compared to other products.

How I use it. I use it once a week not more. sometimes even once every fortnight. I wet my hair and then take a small amount and rub it gently on the scalp. I used the word gently as I can assume that harsh and very fast scrubbing doesn't do any good. I do this for a minute or so and then I rinse and I use my normal shampoo and conditioner as usual.

This product gets rid of any build up without irritating the scalp or anything. It also leaves the scalp really soft and I noticed that it actually increases the days where I don't wash my hair.

And what I have found out is that LUSH actually ships to MALTA ! Shipping is a bit pricey but you can always divide shipping amongst you and your friends :)

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Polish Review

I have been meaning to do a review on this for months. I actually bought this product last winter and at first I wasn't sure whether Body Shop would have it this year again. 

But they did! And I think they come out with this range every winter. So, you might still find it around.

This is one of my favourite body scrub/wash type of product. Why? 

Because it is both a scrub and a shower gel at the same time. It has granules which aren't very harsh but which are harsh enough to remove the dead skin cells which I tend to have quite a lot on my legs.

Now you might say but aren't the legs drier this way?

With this one no. Because it contains honey in it and it makes the legs (and rest of the body) as smooth as ever! In fact the skin feels nourished and soft.

I went through this product very quickly and I strongly suggest checking it out. It seriously avoids the hassle of first scrubbing the skin and then using a shower gel after wards.

Oh did I mention the smell?

It is divine without being too strong.

I love to use it with one of the body butters which Body Shop are renowned for.
