Summer 2017 Beauty Favourites

Summer is almost over, however, here in Malta we still are still blessed with some gorgeous sunny days. This time we decided to team up with some of Maltese Blogger Girls to bring you a variety of  post as a collaboration! There is also a chance to win the new Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette! Make sure you stay tuned to Pocalocca and to like all the other pages for a chance to win!!

My post (as the title implies) is about my favourite beauty things from Summer 2017. I hadn't had time to really play with new stuff this summer as I was finishing up my thesis and my Masters degree course. Anyways, here they are below!

I have quite an combination to oily based skin type. This Avene Cleanance Mat was just a perfect day cream for the hot summer months. PS: it is excellent as a makeup base too!

MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Nice 'n Spicy was my go to lipliner this Summer. Perfect under any lip colour and is quite creamy and long lasting too!

Summer calls for SPF. This Inglot Makeup Base SPF 20 is just perfect! Makeup runs smoothly on the skin and stays all day!

Liquid Lipsticks have been an essential part these past couple of years. This Inglot HD Lip tint has been a favourite of mine this summer. It lasts all day and it is not that drying either!

The essence Volume Stylist Lash Extension is not marked a waterproof, but, it doesn't smudge or smear or budge! I love how it makes my lashes black and long and va va voom!!

The essence liquid ink waterproof is my all time favourite liquid liner. It is perfect for summer. It dries out to a somewhat slightly matte finish but lasts all day! It is waterproof, very budget friendly, doesn't smudge or smear!

Last  but not least... This pretty and gorgeous face palette from Zoeva. The golden blush paired with the matte bronzer and golden highlight just screams gorgeousness!

Avene New Summer Products

Summer has definitely kicked in in Malta. It is blazing hot and the sun is scorching. Therefore, SPF is a must for sure! A while bag I was invited to the launch of these new products. The event started with an in-depth presentation on the brand and the science behind the new products. It was followed by some nibbles and bubbly!

This event marks the launch of the new Avene SunsiMed skin care product. It is a protection which offers you a solution perfectly adapted to skin with sun hypersensibility.
Sunsimed contains an exclusive photoprotective complex which protects your skin against the UV rays daily. It has a photostable filter system for optimal UVB-UVA protection and a powerful antioxidant, Pre-Tocopheryl for enhanced cellular protection. Enriched in Avene Thermal Spring Water, recognized for its soothing and anti-irritating properties.

The Avene Eau Thermale thermal spring water is a life saver all year round. I love to leave it in the fridge so as to keep it cool and fresh in summer. I honestly spray it all the time even before makeup. It is suitable for sensitive skin. It can be used for a variety of purposes too such as sunburn, diaper rashes and more!

As you all know sunscreen is a must in summer, and I am always looking for good ones. Ones which do not take ages to sink in and ones which do not leave the skin sticky.
The Avene Eau Thermale SPF  Spray sunscreen is just the ideal sunscreen. I like that it is in a spray form and that it doesn't really leave the skin sticky. It has a high SPF of 50 which is the recommended level. It has a broad spectrum of protection and is photostable and water resistant which means that it offers protection for several hours. Keep in mind that sunscreen should be applied should be applied multiple times during the day. It is also silicone free too.

Lierac and Avene New Winter Launches (+Giveaway)

Finally it is getting a bit more chilly lately and I have the chance to scribble a few words on this particular even which happened several weeks back. Lierac and Avene are 2 of my favourite skin care brands which are relatively new here in Malta, probably Avene more than Lierac.

In the beginning there were short presentations about both brands. This was accompanied by sushi and prosecco during which we had the opportunity to test the products out.

This event saw the launch of a new skincare range - Hydregenist range which is replacing the Hydrachrono range. The range consists of 2 creams, one being more suitable for oily skin types and the other one for dry skin types, and a serum.

"This concentrated cream has 7% concentration of hydra 02 complex, this enveloping cream offers intense and long-lasting comfort. Apricot butter completes the formula for deeply nourished skin. This moisturizing cream-gel instantly comforts and deeply hydrates the skin. Providing lasting care, it envelopes the skin in moisture. Fine lines and first wrinkles are visibly smoothed for enhanced complexion. A delicious melt-in formula, this oxygenating serum plumps the skin for a more youthful appearance. It regenerates the skin for exceptional radiance and complexion"

All the products are aimed to offer the essential hydration the skin needs whilst offering anti aging benefits. During the event we were also introduced to some new products from the Premium range and the Diopti range.

The second part featured another French brand Avene, which has just recently launched in Malta. All the products are infused with Thermal Spring water from the small town of Avene in France.  What is great as well is that all the products are manufactured in sterile environments! Check the following links here and here for more on Avene!

I honestly cannot wait to  try the products which we were so kindly given. Make sure to stay tuned for reviews!

PS. Both Avene and Lierac were kindly enough to offer 5 Readers vouchers for you to spend at a local pharmacy on Avene and Lierac Products. All you need to do is like the LIERAC and AVENE Facebook pages and MY PAGE and follow instructions there!!!

Do not forget to check Lierac and Avene's websites for more information.

Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ (Face & Body) - Review

This review is long due, but this summer was just crazy. I just couldn't keep up. Although it's already September, the heat and sun in Malta is just as strong as ever. I have been extra careful this year, although I know, every year should be the same.

I find it rather a challenge to find a rather good sunblock for the body let alone for the face. This summer I was trying the AVENE Hydrating Sunscreen, which is suitable for both face and body. Although it does have that sunblock smell, it is not that overpowering. It has a quite thin consistency which doesn't remain sticky on the skin. It has broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF50+ protection with additional 24hr hydration. It is suitable for all skin types (even oily skin).

The ingredients include:
Avobenzone (3%), Homosalate (15%), Octisalate (5%) andOctocrylene (10%) provide non-irritating broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50+ Protection
Photostable form of Vitamin E provides a powerful anti-oxidant protection
Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes and softens the skin
Remember to Apply generously and evenly to face and/or body 15 minutes prior to sun exposure. Reapply every two hours or after 80 minutes of swimming or perspiring and immediately after towel drying.

I do love this Sunscreen as it doesn't really have that strong sunblock smell. I mean it does somewhat have a scent, which sunblock doesn't?  It does leave a little bit of a shine on the face but not that much. And the best thing is that it is not heavy on the face and it doesn't  brake me out. This was such a favourite this summer! And will surely remain a favourite of mine next year!

Avene Eau Thermale Launch in Malta

French Skincare is always top notch in my opinion. The French are always so meticulous about their skincare and probably that is why the best skincare brands are made in France.

A couple of weeks back saw the launch of Avene - a skincare brand based purely on the Eau Thermale or Thermal Spring Water which emerges from the Saint-Odile spring in France. It is the capital of modern and scientific hydrotherapy. The Avene Hydrotherapy Center provides programmes aimed at all skin conditions which include Atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and others.

The efficacy comes from the unique and original composition having a low mineral content and neutral pH of 7.5. It is ion-balanced with bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium and is also rich in trace elements such as copper and zinc which are beneficial to the skin.

The Avene Thermal Spring Water respects the physiological balance of sensitive skin hence maintaining the skin's balance. It reduces skin reactivity and reinforces the natural skin cell resistance. It is soothing and anti-irritating and can be used on absolutely everyone.

There is a range for everyone from very sensitive and Hypersensitive skin to Dehydrated skin and Oily skin. Anti aging skin care are also present in the range ranging from those aimed for the first appearance of wrinkles to the deep wrinkles.

Below find some of the photos provided by AVENE MALTA which took place at Villa Arrigo in Naxxar. Do not forget to check out AVENE WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE TO CHECK WHERE THE RANGE IS STOCKED.
